Let's not myth a beat...

Those classically Greek myths. Oh yes. You know which ones I'm talking about. Those stories you had to struggle your way through in high school. Homer's Iliad. Sophocles' Oedipus Rex. You probably don't remember them very well, just that they were kind of boring as read off the page. Or, maybe you've seen or acted in a Greek play or adaptation at one point or another. Or even further removed from that, you've been aware of people talking about opening up a "Pandora's Box" of trouble, or striking someone in their "Achilles' heel". Maybe you never really gave mythology much thought before.

Well, we Mythodicals are passionate about 'em . Myths, that is. Not only the more well-known Greco-Roman stories, but all of 'em throughout the world. We're interested in the Aboriginal Rainbow Serpent, the Indian Goddess of Chaos and Destruction, Kali, and Kwan Yin, her Chinese equivalent. We're interested in how the overarching "Trickster" archetype is represented in the Roman Mercury, the Norse Loki, the Native American Raven and Fox. We're interested in what Joseph Campbell has to say about how going to see Star Wars satisfies in us the same thing mythology satisfied in our ancestors. More importantly, we're interested in how these old tales speak to and affect our contemporary perceptions and values, and interested in retelling them on a stage, in ways that are compelling to us NOW.

And if you're interested in these things too, come see us. Talk to us. Let's have a conversation.
