How to Build A Ritual

Picture

Everyone knows Eris as the fearsome and not-to-be-trifled-with Goddess of Chaos. By merely crashing a wedding, throwing down a golden apple labeled "To The Fairest", -a seemingly tiny act- nevertheless set off a chain reaction of events leading to one of the most infamous & drawn out battles in human history: the Trojan War.

But maybe, Eris wasn't always chaos personified... Maybe her talents at setting things up were perverted by those from whom she took orders until they escaped her control until, feared and misunderstood, she could no longer recognize herself.

Written by Jen Smith Anderson & Carolynne Wilcox with movement work by Lisa Every and adapted/directed by Richard Buckley, this short exploration on the origins of story and ritual features performances by Jen Smith Anderson, Kim Douthit, Rebecca Goldberg, Pearl Klein, Christine White, Carolynne Wilcox and Amber Zipperer.

How To Build A Ritual debuts as part of Freehold's Incubator Studio Series in April 2016 for three performances at 2222 2nd Ave in Belltown:
Thursday, 4/7 at 7pm
Friday, 4/8 at 9:30pm
Saturday, 4/9 at 7pm

Tickets are a suggested donation of $10 at the door.
